When One Friend Becomes a Miracle
Have you ever been so low that even K-drama couldn’t distract you? The kind of low where every text feels like a chore, and the thought of smiling feels like an Olympic sport you didn’t train for? Yeah, me too.
I was deep in my “do not disturb” era, not because I was busy, but because I was done—done with people, problems, and pretending to be okay. Life felt like an endless rerun of unfair plot twists, and I wanted no part of it. So, I shut the world out.
But then there was that friend. You know the one. The person who somehow senses your silence is more than “I’m just tired.” They texted first. They showed up with coffee (the universal language of care) and didn’t ask me to explain my messy mood. Instead, they just sat with me.
No grand speeches. No unsolicited advice. Just presence. And in that quiet space, their kindness became a glimmer of hope I didn’t know I needed.
Looking back, I see how God worked through them. Proverbs 17:17 says, “A friend loves at all times,” and that’s exactly what they did—they loved me when I wasn’t lovable, listened when I had no words, and reminded me that dark days don’t last forever.
Here’s the thing: God’s love often looks like a text from a friend, a warm cup of coffee, or a listening ear when life feels unfair. It’s a reminder that we’re never truly alone, even when it feels like it.
So, if you’re in that place today—buried under the weight of everything—let me encourage you. Don’t push away the people who care. Let them in. And if you’re the friend on the other side, don’t underestimate the power of your small, faithful acts.
Sometimes, God’s miracles don’t come as parted seas or fire from heaven. Sometimes, they come as a friend who brings coffee and sits beside you until the storm passes.
Growing Daily With Grace,
Irish🤎
